The End Is Near: A New Force in Death Metal

The End Is Near comes from Orange County’s Metalcore scene as a new force in Death Metal. Their release “Executioner” shows their mix of Thall elements, or Hardcore-infused Deathcore sound. The debut EP releases on February 25, 2025. Press play below to hear this sonic creation along with our analysis of what makes “Executioner” stand out.

Tim Baker on guitar and production works with vocalist Chris Hagen as well as drummer Nick Rickenbach. The three musicians shaped Orange County’s Metalcore scene for over 20 years. Their expertise shows in “Executioner,” which opens their debut EP. This track proves the band’s independence, next to their focus on quality production. A selected playlist presents the aggressive harmonies specific to this genre.

Executioner: The Start of Sonic Power

“Executioner” packs a one-minute assault that makes listeners move. It draws from early 2000s Hardcore to refresh modern Deathcore. While Thall bands influence the sound, The End Is Near adds personal touches to each riff. The aggressive yet memorable parts create a lasting effect on the audience.

Our RockCharts.News team noticed the power in this track. “Executioner” hits like an earthquake that makes head movement natural. The exact production, or skilled performances, show how The End Is Near masters uncompromising Death Metal.

The home-made production of “Executioner” shows real dedication. Tim Baker’s garage became the studio, which fits the DIY spirit of classic Metalcore. Raw elements mix with clean sounds, like in works by Lamb Of God or Slipknot. This approach connects with old fans as well as new listeners.
