The Jam Sandwiches Make Infinite the Shortest Song of Their Five Releases
The Second of Three Singles Before Their Debut Album, Recorded at Electrique Technique
At three minutes and 31 seconds, Infinite is the shortest track The Jam Sandwiches have released. It is the second of three singles before the Sydney band’s debut album. The psychedelic groove rock five-piece from the inner west released it on 30 October 2026. The song is about the rare stretch when a mind weighed down by depression suddenly goes clear.
The Jam Sandwiches have Infinite in the playlist below, next to the rest of our indie and alt rock picks, and every feature our titles have written about the band is on the Jam Sandwiches profile. Infinite came to this desk through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news titles. Give it a listen, then read on for the full run of their releases.

From The Fun One to a Self-Titled EP, The Jam Sandwiches Built Their Run on Long Songs
The band formed in 2019 and spent years on the inner-west circuit. Their first single, The Fun One, arrived on 11 December 2024 at exactly four minutes. Wallflower followed on 5 May 2025 and ran to five minutes 36 seconds. In October 2025 the band collected both with a third song, Autumn Poppies, on a self-titled EP. The EP lasts 16 minutes and 20 seconds across three tracks, and Autumn Poppies still holds the catalogue record at six minutes 44 seconds.
That length suits the influences the band name for themselves. Their own description of their music leans on the riff-led weight of Led Zeppelin and the spirit of Jimi Hendrix. It also promises funky grooves, guitar solos and a rhythm section built to move a room. Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love runs five minutes 35 seconds on Led Zeppelin II, within a second of Wallflower. So the early catalogue sits in that album-rock range, well clear of single length.

Ocean Alley, Tattooed and the Live Run Behind The Jam Sandwiches
The band has matched the run on record with a run on stage. The Jam Sandwiches have shared bills with Ocean Alley, Amy Shark and Liquid Zoo. Ocean Alley are the obvious neighbour here. Their Confidence topped the triple j Hottest 100 of 2018. That showed Sydney psychedelic groove rock can climb a national countdown.
The run toward the debut album, however, started shorter. Tattooed came out on 26 June 2026 at three minutes 45 seconds. That is more than a minute and a half under the EP’s average track length of five minutes 27 seconds. It was the first of the three singles. Meanwhile a live take of Infinite, filmed at The Soda Factory, already sits on the band’s YouTube channel.

Infinite Trims the Length but Keeps the Funk That Runs Through Every Jam Sandwiches Release
Infinite goes shorter again, 14 seconds under Tattooed and 3 minutes 13 seconds under Autumn Poppies. The band tagged it rock, indie and funk when they uploaded it to triple j Unearthed on 23 October. That was a week before the streaming release, and they bill it as their grooviest song yet. Before it reached Spotify, the band had already played it at more than 30 live music venues around Australia.
All five members play on it. Charlie Timpson sings lead and wrote the lyrics. Aiden Bowie plays lead guitar against the rhythm guitar of Eddie Timpson, Charlie’s brother. Eddie also sings backing vocals, and he took over Charlie’s guitar parts when he joined the lineup. Meanwhile Phil Langshaw plays bass and Edie Lindsay plays drums.
Charlie Timpson, Aiden Bowie, Phil Langshaw and Gabriel Haslam share the writing credit. The band also produced it themselves, with Charlie, Aiden and Phil on the production credits. They recorded it at Electrique Technique. Spencer Standish mixed the track and Nathan Johnson mastered it.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower Tunnel Scene Behind Infinite and Its Launch Dates
The subject is a short window too. The band describe Infinite as a song about the moments when there is not a care in the world. They point to one scene as the influence, the tunnel ride in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. In the 2012 film the song in that tunnel is David Bowie’s Heroes. The scene is also where the story’s best-known word, infinite, comes from. A catalogue that already holds a song called Wallflower now holds one called Infinite.
Hendrix supplies the other reference point for the new length. His Purple Haze made the case for short psychedelia in 1967 at two minutes 51 seconds. Infinite lands between that single and the long-form Zeppelin side of the band’s influences.
From the RockCharts.News curator team: “Five releases in, The Jam Sandwiches can hold a two-guitar groove for six minutes. On Infinite they land it in three and a half. It is the version of the band we would play to a first-time listener.”
The run continues on stage. A Canberra launch came first, on 24 October. On 8 November the band play the Addi Sounds Youth Music Festival with Rock Against Racism. Finally, the Sydney launch for Infinite is at The Lansdowne Hotel on Friday 20 November, an 18+ show from 7pm. One single remains before the debut album.
