Want to support independent artists and fresh music? So many great bands and artists are out there, just waiting for someone like you to discover their music.
Rock culture is a way of life. It’s an attitude, a way of doing things, and a style that can’t be copied or replicated. Rock music has been around for decades, and it continues to evolve as the people who make it do.
The best part about rock music is that there are so many different genres to choose from—they’re all equally valid! The term “rock” refers to any music made by musicians who are trying to make their own unique sound, whether they’re playing metal or country music or jazz.
If you’re looking for some new tunes to add to your playlists, look no further than this week’s releases from independent artists! Here are some of our favourites:

1) DEAR AMBER – Echoes Always Fade
Echoes Always Fade by Dear Amber is an EP that is sure to be a favorite of all who love alt-rock and post-rock. The EP has a cinematic feel, with lyrics that are both emotional and uplifting.
The group Dear Amber has been formed in 2019 and consists of four talented musicians who have created a sound universe that interprets guitar rock in a refreshing and innovative manner.
In addition to recognizing recognizable references and adding in ingredients that pay tribute to history while looking forward to the future, Dear Amber offers a unique and unforgettable musical experience.
They released an EP titled “Sparks Equal Fall” in 2021 that received rave reviews, as well as live performances throughout the year. Dear Amber is poised to take the music world by storm with their brand new EP entitled ”Echoes Always Fade”.
Earlier this year, Dear Amber released two exceptional singles to build anticipation for the album release on 10/03, “Roadkill” and “Appear to Disappear”. Both singles have received high praise from fans and critics alike, showing Dear Amber’s dedication to her craft.

2) ALDÍS FJÓLA – Pipedreams
I would like to introduce you to Aldi Fjóla, who is a musician from a small town in Iceland. She has just released her second album, Pipedreams, which is a tribute to the 90’s grunge era, which is one of her favorite eras in music.
The six tracks on this EP are super catchy and hard to get out of your head. If you’re looking for something new to listen to that will make you want to dance and sing along, this is it.
This EP really captures what it would be like if we were able to go back in time and see what it was like for 90’s artists performing live on stage at their prime time in the spotlight!
My favorite track from this EP is ”Crossfire”. Its really anthemic, Ald’is’s voice is heavy and sticks on you for a while after listening, its an amazing song overall. Production, mixing, lyrics, i loved it, alike the rest of the album!
If you want to know more about this outstanding artist, follow her on Spotify, and don’t forget to check her website as well!
3) MARCUS SMITH – Sandwiches
Marcus Smith is an alternative rock artist from Cleveland, Ohio. His single Sandwiches is a banger that will get you moving and singing along.
Sandwiches are the subject of this ode. Listen to this song and you will have the most fun you have ever had listening to a song. By the time the chorus comes in a second time, you’ll be singing along to it with enthusiasm. With a perfect storm of Rock, Rap, and Comedy, Marcus Smith’s influences are all evident in his music.
The instrumentation is great too; there’s just enough guitar to keep the song from being boring, but not so much that it takes away from the vocals or lyrics.
It is undeniable that Sandwiches is one of the most catchy songs I have ever heard…I am sure you will be playing it over and over again for days to come! If you’re looking for something edgy yet easy to listen to (and sing along with), Sandwiches is definitely worth checking out!
Check out his Spotify, and have a visit to his website also, this is one of those artists we have to keep an eye for, we never know when another banger will drop!
4) BLUE SHIRT CHARLIE – Crazy Woman
Blue Shirt Charlie is a band you should check out. They’re an alternative rock band that is based in Nashville, Tennessee. They have a very distinct sound and are known for their edgy style of music.
This is one track that leans heavily into the band’s alternative instincts: “Crazy Woman” reflects on the lost moments of a relationship tangled in the struggles of mental illness and it’s the band’s most personal song.
The single, Crazy Woman, is a great song that has the perfect mix of alternative rock and indie rock. It’s got a little bit of a classic sound, too—it’s just not too far from what you’d expect from a band like this.
As Leonard Cohen, the late great poet and musician, once observed: “There is a crack in everything; that’s how the light gets in.”
I highly recommend checking out Blue Shirt Charlie as soon as possible! Visit their Spotify and their website.
5) FILIP DAHL – Can You See The World
The Norwegian composer and multi-instrumentalist Filip Dahl is in the midst of an exciting musical journey that is constantly changing and evolving.
In his latest single release, “Can You See the World”, he has offered us a glimpse of his prog rock side as opposed to some of his previous, more blues rock inspired singles that have been released before.
In the beginning, the song begins rather quietly with nothing more than a clean chorused guitar and an electric piano before it gradually builds up in both intensity and power as time goes on. In the end, after a rather pronounced tempo shift midway through the song, it finally reaches a rather heavy climax.
As a result of the insane egos of leading politicians, the music and lyrics to “Can You See the World” were written as an observation and statement about how unpredictable the future of the world we live in has proven to be. The question we could all be asking ourselves is what will be left for our children and grandchildren in the future.
If you’re interested in checking out more of Filip Dahl’s music, visit his website, or follow him on Spotify. I’ve included links so that can get started right away!
6) KOBURG – Beauty In The Fight
When you think of the UK, you might not immediately think of rock music. But KOBURG is here to change that.
Their single “Beauty In The Fight” mixes elements of alt-rock with pop and metal to create a sound that’s hard to classify but impossible not to love.
The vocals are provided by a female singer whose voice is both powerful and melodic—a combination that gives this song an extra kick over other pop-rock songs on the market today.
It’s got the big choruses and hooks that you’d expect from an anthem, but it also has some very heavy guitar riffs and a lot of emotion in the vocals.
It’s also worth mentioning that KOBURG is fronted by a female vocalist, who proves herself as one of the best singers in this genre. Her voice is powerful and emotive, but never overdone or cheesy—it’s simply perfect for this kind of music.
If you’re interested in checking out more of Koburg’s’s music, visit her website, or follow her on Spotify. I’ve included links so that can get started right away!
7) ROGUE JONES – Dos Bebes
Rogue Jones is an indie pop band from Cardiff, Wales. Their new album, Dos Bebes, is a collection of bangers and anthems that any music fan will find super catchy.
Their latest album Dos Bebes has songs with a lot of heart and soul behind them, but what really sets them apart is their catchy melodies and super edgy style.
There are no words to describe how good it is, except for the words “Brilliant Stuff!” as described by Cerys Matthews, BBC Radio 6 Music, and certainly the words “soulful, rhythmic and impart words of hope and redemption.” as described by God Is In The TV Blog.
They have created their own genre of indie folk-pop that they call shoegaze, which is a perfect blend of catchy beats and lyrics that are so relatable it feels like they’ve been written just for you.
My favorite song from this albumis ”Off By One”. Its a slow paced song, i love the way it flows and the energy brought from it. Its greatly well produced and very well mixed also, as well as the other songs on the album.
If you want more from them, check their website and their Spotify, for more work from them!
8) JUDY GRANVILLE – HOLD ON
If you’re looking for a new sound, you should check out JUDY GRANVILLE. She’s an indie singer-songwriter from the United Kingdom who mixes rock, pop, alt rock pop, and female vocals to create classic sounds that will really get your head bopping.
I am thrilled with Judy Granville’s newly released single, HOLD ON, as it builds on her previous track record. It has a rock/dance rhythm that builds and builds to a final chorus that is upbeat.
Despite the uncertain times we are living in today, the lyric is written to provide optimism: “Hold on / Don’t look down / We will all meet / We will come around.
In addition to Judy performing on electric guitar, she is joined by her veteran musicians Theseus Gerard of Stomp fame on drums and percussion, Chris Hookway on bass, and Jed Cutler on lead guitar as she accompany her vocals.
You can find more of JUDY GRANVILLE’s music on Spotify or visit her website to learn more about her upcoming shows and other news.
9) NEVERLESS – Neverless
I’m a big fan of alternative rock, and lately I’ve been checking out some indie bands. One of the bands that has really stood out to me is Neverless, an indie rock band based in Sarasota, FL. Their latest album, Neverless, has been on heavy rotation for me this month.
With their debut self-titled album released everywhere on March 15th, Neverless has made waves with a dynamic 12 track release that serves as an impressive introduction to the band’s sound while also serving as a strong structure to their genre.
Neverless is a Florida based band that formed in Sarasota, FL. Since forming, the band has been steadily releasing a string of catchy singles and has diligently been playing throughout the state. They have a few major festivals lined up for this year.
I think what makes this album stand out so much for me is its nostalgic feel—it feels like something I would have listened to when I was younger but still sounds fresh today. If you’re looking for something new but still classic sounding, check out Neverless!
The new album is available now on Spotify, which of i think you should check out yourself, and also visit their website!
10) ELECTRIC HIGH – Seven Wonders
With their mix of alternative rock and hard rock, Electric High from Bergen, Norway, plays a kind of mixture that reminds you a little bit of what it would be like if Screaming Trees and Rival Sons smashed up at an Aerosmith concert. Fronted by two lead singers, they hit you right in the face with a whole new level of electric energy.
It is safe to say that Electric High have been charging up and keeping busy building no less than Seven Wonders, in the shape of a brand new song that is sure to pound your ears. Launching on Friday, March 10th, Seven Wonders is already streaming on Spotify!
Seven Wonders is a song about going a little too far and biting off more than one can chew at times in order to get what you want. When you take it more than a few steps too far and try to do too much, you may end up getting what you want.
With a powerful, heavy strolling guitar riff and a steady drum beat, Seven Wonders is driven by the intense rock vocals of the two singers who boast outrageous promises based on historical myths of Zeus, Helios, King Nebukadnesar of Babylon, and the seven wonders of ancient history.
We would highly recommend checking out “Seven Wonders” by Electric High—and be sure to check out their website, and follow them on Spotify!
