1) SATELLITE RAIN – Lies
SATELLITE RAIN is an independent band from Melbourne, Australia and we’re giving their single Lies a 5-star review. The song is super catchy, yet so easy to listen to. The lyrics are deep but not too deep to get lost in them. And the music is just absolutely beautiful!
Lies is a power-pop extravaganza that will appeal to fans of classic rock. In this tune, they have created a perfect balance between upbeat lyrics and an upbeat melody. There is something incredibly special about this band that can create such catchy and memorable tunes. The track is classic rock, but there’s definitely no lack of power when it comes to the vocals.
The keyboards the rhythm guitar and the drums create a comfortable musical landscape which can be enjoyed on a rainy day or by a campfire near the beach. This is the type of music that will get you hooked within the first minute and begging for more!
Check it out, visit their website, and follow the band on Spotify and on their Youtube channel!
2) JOSHUA KETCHMARK – No Stopping Us
If you’re one of those who enjoy listening to independent artists, then this is a band you should check out. This track from Joshua Ketchmark is an absolute hit.
The single ‘No Stopping Us’ is the 4th single from Joshua Ketchmark’s 10th studio album titled ‘BLOOD’. This is a song that speaks about coming of age. The chorus of the song exclaims, “We were right outside of glory.”.
“There’re some timeless traditions small towns conjure, dark roads your youth is meant to wander”
Like all of the other songs on ‘BLOOD,’ this song was written by Ketchmark and is closely based on his own experiences growing up two and a half hours south of Chicago.
All music and lyrics were composed, produced, engineered and mixed by Ketchmark, with C.C. Wyle adding beautiful vocal harmonies, Zak St. John (Black Star Riders/Stevie Wonder) playing the drums and percussion, Ger Hoffman playing the bass, Michael Webb playing the organ, and Sadler Vaden played the electric guitar.
This is the first time I’ve heard of him and I can’t wait to hear more from him. Check out his website and follow him on Spotify!
3) KAHNIN – I Am 5.6.4.3
The Icelandic artist Kahnin is a great example of the type of music that can be made with a classic sound and modern production techniques. His song “I Am 5.6.4.3” is an acoustic rock single with a soft power pop vibe, reminiscent of 80’s rock.
There is no doubt that ‘I am 5.6.4.3’ is an amazing single that is extremely well produced. I would describe the dynamics and chilling message as flawless.
‘I am 5.6.4.’3’ is Kahnin’s dystopian vision of the future. A song about hacking and chipping the human brain and body to gain control and make us better serfs. It’s a bit dark for sure. The problem is already here, so we need to wake up. It must be stopped in its infancy before it becomes irreversible.
”Could you please open your eyes?” – Kahnin says.
We are on the cusp of artificial intelligence, and this song illustrates the danger it poses if handled incorrectly.
If you’re looking for something new to listen to this summer, be sure to check out Kahnin’s website and follow him on Spotify so you don’t miss any new releases!
4) THE IVIES – Reflections
A Swiss army knife of influences, The Ivies‘ debut EP is ‘more prog than most psych bands, more psych than most prog bands’ cementing them as unique artists.
Crescendoing into existence, the trio shows off their writing skills, with intricate guitar work and melodies that echo both The Beatles and Black Country, New Road. Songs remain, at their core, genuinely great while the band explores more sonic possibilities.
The band’s potential shines through in ‘Reflections’. Creativity doesn’t just happen in the studio. When they perform live, they are versatile, sometimes partnering with a flautist, sometimes keeping it simple.
As much as their studio outputs, the Ivies show is an experience.
Each track on the EP has a unique feel and story, tied together by the flavour that has become synonymous with The Ivies’ sound.
My favourite song from the EP is ”Isolation”. It’s a chill, relaxed vibe song, but it’s not too much so it doesn’t become a bad-energy-varying song! I actually think it made me very happy while listening to it!

5) BETTY MOON – My Only One
I’m betting you know the sound of the ’90s. It’s been everywhere, from the biggest pop hits to the most obscure indie bands. It’s in your favourite songs and your least favourite songs. It’s in everything because it’s here to stay—and we’re not complaining.
Betty Moon is currently working on new music, including an album and a series of singles, which will be released in the coming times. This award-winning producer/songwriter from Canada is now based in Los Angeles and is working on new projects.
Moon’s music draws influence from underground sounds including rock, soul, punk rock, electronic and electro-pop. With its big bold energy, her music is aggressive, empowering, yet soothing.
Among her television and film credits are Californication, Dexter, Bounty Hunters, Teen Mom Young & Pregnant, Walking the Dead, Last Gasp, and Butter.
This is the kind of song I’d listen to while driving around LA—it has a kind of beachy vibe to it that really evokes those warm California nights when all you want to do is sit around with friends and listen to music.
You can check out the song on Spotify or visit her website to learn more about the artist and see where she will play next!
6) PAPA SATCH – Tell Me In A Whisper
If you’re a fan of acoustic rock and classic rock, you should really check out the new album from independent artist PAPA SATCH. Tell Me In A Whisper is an eleven-track album that features soft and acoustic melodies.
The album Tell Me In A Whisper covers a lot of ground. Due to the bombardment of information, we are exposed to through media (regular and social), we are exposed to good and bad relationships.
We are not talking about the positive things in life, but about the complexities of life, such as Love, Anger, Emotion, Care, Fear, and grasping onto straws for some hope.
The first thing I noticed while listening to this album was how unique the sound was. It’s a mix of acoustics and classic rock with hints of folk, country, and soft rock thrown in for good measure. The vocals are clear and crisp.
My favourite track from the album is ”Trouble for Me”. It’s the 8th track of the album and is such an amazing vibe, it’s really upbeat and brings out amazing energy that I think you should experience!

If you’re a fan of alt-country, country, or just good music in general, then you’ll love the new single from BLUE SHIRT CHARLIE called “Shelter.”
Blue Shirt Charlie is an Alt-Country band from Nashville, Tennessee, whose members have played with the likes of Shooter Jennings and Wade Bowen. “Shelter” is a driving and melodic stomper that reflects on some real-life tragedies through its lyrics.
When the world falls apart, what will get you through the day–what will serve as your shelter during times of crisis?
The track is an anthemic song with a classic sound that will have you humming along for days. It’s super catchy and has a classic rock element to it that will make you feel like you’re listening to a rock-pop band from the 70s.
but it also has a modern edge that makes it feel fresh and exciting. If you’re looking for something new to listen to today, check out Blue Shirt Charlie on Spotify or visit their website!
8) STEVE POINTMEIER – Incendiary
Incendiary is the latest single from Steve Pointmeier, a Canadian-based artist who has been making music for some time now. The song is an acoustic pop rock love song with a classic sound, featuring a catchy guitar riff and smooth vocals.
A pure country original, this Steve Pointmeier release is his 7th to Country Radio. Whether it’s Steve’s country vocals to the song’s Country flavour, you’ll be hooked on INCENDIARY from the simple acoustic guitar intro to the winding mandolin.
A rising star in the music industry, Steve has a catalogue of other successful songs to offer your listeners more of what they want.
It’s easy to see why Steve Pointmeier has become so popular in his home country of Canada: his music is both accessible and memorable, with an old-school feel that makes it easy to listen to again and again.
His lyrics are honest and heartfelt, and his sound is unique enough that you won’t mistake him for anyone else—but familiar enough to make you want to hear more than once.
This single is just one of many great songs in Pointmeier’s career. Check out his website or follow him on Spotify to keep up with all of his latest releases!
9) RALPH NIX & THE GUILT BIRDS – Window Shopping
A Mississippi-based Americana singer/songwriter, Lance Blackwell draws influences from all southern genres. Blues, Gospel, Country, Rock, and Blue Grass music are evident in the instrumentation and writing.
In his second album, “Good Ingredients”, he teams up with the Guilt Birds. Stories of ghosts from the past, songs of love, loss, betrayal, a murder ballad, and even some gospel-inspired songs are part of this perfect blend of feel-good sounds and meaningful storytelling.
And the song ”Window Shopping” is the song I’m talking about today! While listening to this song I could imagine myself driving down an open road by myself with nothing but nature as my backdrop. It sounds like something that would play while they show you different locations across America
The single Window Shopping is a perfect example of this influence as it showcases their unique style and sounds through an anthemic melody.
The best part? You don’t have to leave your house to check this out—just visit his website or follow them on Spotify!
10) BURN THE LOUVRE – Silhouettes
Alt-folk rock band, BURN THE LOUVRE, is releasing their new single “Silhouettes”. The group is based out of Canada, in Hamilton. The sound of this track is classic alt-rock with a soft rock sensibility and an acoustic touch.
This is Burn The Louvre’s tenth single and title track from their debut LP Silhouettes. Since January, the band has been releasing one song per month from the album. Indie rock song “Silhouettes” is inspired by The Last Shadow Puppets and singer/guitarist Jordan Speare’s first break-up.
”…my first girlfriend breaking up back when I was 24 recalls Speare, and then when it finally happened, I wrote the lyrics to this and finished the whole song in a matter of days. It was actually extremely therapeutic to organize my thoughts like that, I didn’t really even have to go back and edit this one much, my 1st draft was almost spot-on,”
